Single session therapy is one focused session to bring one issue or area of difficulty and work together to understand it better, explore your options, and leave with something practical or meaningful to take forward.
I’m trained in single-session work for individuals only, and can be booked either online or in person.
Unlike ongoing therapy, which often involves exploring long-term patterns or histories, single session therapy is present-focused and pragmatic, meaning we get to the heart of the matter as quickly and thoughtfully as we can. I draw on solution-focused and strengths-based approaches which essentially means we’ll look at what’s already working, what you want to be different, and how to get from here to there.
At the start of the session, we’ll clarify what you want to focus on and what a useful outcome would look like as this helps us stay anchored to your agenda and make the most of our time.
Because we won’t have the usual time to build up context or therapeutic relationship, it’s most helpful if you come with an idea of what you’d like to use the session for.
You might leave with a plan or new perspective, or just the relief of having talked things through.
Please outline your reasons for choosing a single session when you get in touch. This helps me get a sense that it’s the right kind of support for what you’re bringing. There’s never any pressure to continue beyond a single session but you’re welcome to return for further support in the future if it feels helpful.
Reaching out can feel like a big step, especially if you’ve spent a long time managing on your own.
You’re welcome to contact me using the form here if you'd like to arrange a short consultation, or if you have any questions before deciding whether to begin.
If you’d prefer to leave a message or speak to me first, you’re also welcome to call me on:
